Last night at my University,there was a violent riot because the gov't had only paid students half of the meal allowance.The students got upset and started a violent riot.
I was caught up in the riot as I was coming back from class.The Police came in throwing tear gas and flares.The riot got intense when students started throwing stones at the police and insulting.
So I sought refuge in my friend's room but the police started using violence to drag people out of their rooms and load them into the police van.They were getting any one as long as they were a student even if they were not participating in the riot.
The Lord amazed me with his love.One Police man got so furious that he started breaking down the windows of the room we were in with a gun.He wanted to drag us out of the room.He was shouting "Get these dogs!" Meaning students. So we started praying in the room and he suddenly stopped hitting on the window.
He then went to the door and started shaking it but it was locked.He went to the next door and found that it was also locked but the surprising thing is that he called his friends and they broke the door down with their guns and threw tear gas canisters inside.
We wondered why they had not broken down our door.It was the power of God.
The tear gas lit up that room and when the students ran out of the room,the police arrested them.
Some people even fainted from the thick chilli teargas smoke and are on drips as we speak. but the Lord watched over me.
Another police man also shot two live bullets at a student right outside our room but they did not touch us or seem to pay attention to our room.
That was the mighty power of God.That is why the bible says he who abides under the shadow of the Almighty shall abide in saftey.
When the riot died down in the early hours of this morning,students gathered around our room in numbers,amazed that we had not been harmed yet the windows had been shattered.We praise a living God and it is not in vain.We are living testimonies.These things happen that the world may believe.
For is not by power nor by might but by the power of the Holy Spirit.Just as God did it with Paul and Silas,he is able to do it again.
