A man was on death row.
When the day of his execution came, his best friend couldn’t bear it and decided to try his luck saving his friend through presidential pardon.
He begged the president for his friend’s life, till the president gave in.
He was given a note of presidential pardon to deliver to the prison where his friend was being held in order for him to sign the note in acceptance of the pardon.
So excited and with only minutes to go before the scheduled execution time, the man arrived at the prison at about the same time his friend was being taken to the execution chamber.
He managed to get past the guards after thorough explanations and got to his friend just two minutes before his execution.
Excited,he showed his friend the letter of pardon, whose only missing part was the signature of acceptance of pardon to make it complete and effective.
The man on death row had given up all hope and could not believe that the president could pardon him when he didn’t even know him!
His friends begged him to just sign the letter, but couldn’t convince him because he thought his friend was playing a prank on him even in the hour of his death.
He got angry with his friend,”how can you
be so evil to play a prank on
me even in my last minutes of life?!”
The man tried to explain that it was real and showed him the presidential seal but his friend couldn’t be pursuaded till the two minutes elapsed and the scheduled execution time arrived.
The man was executed because the pardon letter wasn’t complete without him impending his signature in acceptance.
This is a true picture of how people still endup in hell despite Jesus offering forgiveness of sin and paying for the salvation of
human kind.
We must accept the sacrifice for it to be effective in our lives,if not,we will still endup in hell despite Jesus paying the price for salvation.
The covenant is completed by our accepting it.
Accepting Jesus isn’t just saying with our lips while denying Him with our lifestyle.
We must abandon our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
We cannot serve both Jesus and the lusts of sin.
It requires surrender to Him.
He has paid the price but that sacrifice isn’t any use to anyone rejecting Him.
A man was on death row….
