DON’T BE SPIRITUALLY DEAF!!!
Sometimes the Holy Spirit speaks to us in such a subtle way that if you’re not careful,you can miss His voice!
We have to be attentive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes He speaks in a still small voice because He is not forcing us or exerting authority. It is our choice to obey.
One thing we have to know is that Voice of the Holy Spirit will always lead us to obey the word of God and not the opposite.
John 14:26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
I’ve been feeling unwell and was home yesterday trying to recuperate. As I sat there,I heard that I should read the bible. Then I said to myself “I have ALL day. It’s just probably myself thinking. Why would I read the Bible now instead of resting. I will read in the evening.”
Then at around 5 PM,I received a distressing call that needed me to rush to see someone who is sick at the hospital. Then I heard a voice saying, “That is why I told you to read the bible in the morning.”
I was so unhappy. In the morning I thought it was just me who wanted to read the bible and pushed it to evening. But that feeling/Voice had been the Holy Spirit.
He knew that in the evening something urgent would come up and I would need to go for hours. I came back very late and only prayed and slept.
Sometimes God can be telling you to get rid of a certain sin and you keep postponing and you say it’s just yourself it’s not God. Remember the Holy Spirit leads us to righteousness. Do not regret when it is too late.
I Kings 19:12-13
12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire A STILL SMALL VOICE.
13 So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
Hebrews 10:16-18
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My LAWS into their HEARTS and in their minds I will write them,”
