How God Accurately Speaks When You Wait on Him-My Testimony

When my husband and I knew we were expecting a baby,we decided to give him to the Lord even before he was born.
I told the Lord that I wanted a sign of His covenant and so we would not name our son,and I asked God to name our son Himself as a sign of His covenant.
We prayed for the child’s name and expected that God would tell us the name before the child was born.
He didn’t.God was just quiet.
By the time our son was born,we still had no idea what his name was going to be,we were still waiting on the Lord to keep His part of the covenant.
Many people started asking us what his name was going to be as soon as he was born and when we said we didn’t know they were so surprised and said,”This is your first born and you still don’t know what name you are going to give him?Many people already have a name before the child is even born.”
We had wanted to name him on the eighth day like in Luke 2:21(just our choice,not a commandment).
We had asked God the child’s name for the whole 9 months I was pregnant and God was quiet, except for this one time when He had told a pastor we know,when he had been praying with us for the name and God didn’t tell him the name but just told him,”I will reveal the child’s name to his father.”
Even if God didn’t give us the answer we were seeking at our time,we still continued to pray and because we knew He is faithful,we knew He would give it to us by the day of naming.
When my son was 4 days old,one day I was holding him in my arms and just feeling so grateful to Jesus for giving him to us.
I wasn’t praying or anything,and I wasn’t even expecting God to speak to me.
But right there,I clearly heard the Lord’s voice and He told me,”I have given this child as a gift to you and that is the meaning of his name, it means a gift from God.”
I was so amazed that God had given me the meaning of the name but still hadn’t told me the name.
I kept what God had told me to myself,I didn’t share it even with my husband.
We still continued to pray about it and on the eighth day we still didn’t have the name!
We planned to name him in the evening and were confident about God’s faithfulness.
God led my husband to write a list of 7 biblical names and then pray.
My husband went to pray and he thought he would have to pray for a while before God answers but as soon as he knelt down to pray, God clearly spoke to him and said,the child’s name is on number 5 on the list you wrote!
I was outside the house, getting laundry off the line where we hang out clothes after washing.
And my husband came out very excited and he told me God had given him the child’s name.
Then he told me what happened and the 5th name on the list was “Nathan” and when we checked the meaning it meant a gift from God!
I hadn’t told my husband or anyone what God had told me when my son was 4 days old that the meaning of his name would be a gift from God.
That was so amazing!
My mom had come to visit us and we were so excited to share with her that God had finally answered us.
But before we told her anything,we asked her if God had spoken to her about the child’s name because we had asked her to pray with us for the name even before he was born.
So my husband told her that we wanted to name the child now and asked if God had told her anything.
My mom said,”his name is Nathan!”
We just couldn’t believe it!
How could she say the very exact name God had given us without us telling her anything at all?
We were curious how she knew the name.
My mom said as soon as she walked through the door entering our house,God spoke to her and said,”he is Nathan,the prophet.”
God had already spoken to me before, about my son having a prophetic call.
But that was so amazing how God told my mom the exact name.
How He had told all three of us the exact same thing and He had spoken to all of us at times we didn’t even expect and it was so accurate and consistent without missing any words.
For 9 months God was quiet about it but He was still on time,He was not late.
He knew we would name him on the eighth day and so He purposefully planned to give us the name at the right time!
We waited on God and therefore clearly heard what He had to say!
God speaks to us at the right time.
He’s ALWAYS on time!
