It grieves the Holy Spirit when we idolize people just because of how God uses them and give them the honor that belongs to Jesus.
The Holy Spirit is the giver of all spiritual gifts.
He gives gifts of prophesy, healing etc all for the benefit of His church.
The reason He puts those gifts in certain people isn’t because they are more special than others.
He can use any willing vessel.
Believers can actually ask for spiritual gifts they desire but do not have.
Wether it’s the gift of teaching,or visions or any other gift, should not make us idolize the vessel.
We need to learn to see the God who gives those people the teachings they deliver or the visions they deliver or the gift of healing, or whatever gift that is.
We need to recognize that it all comes from Jesus, not the person.
And it should make us to seek Jesus, not to make the person to be a replacement of Jesus.
In whatever work of the Holy Spirit,we must see Jesus, not the vessel He’s using for that work.
God is a very jealous God,He does not share His glory with man.
It grieves the Holy Spirit when we fail to see the God behind it all and we fail to seek Him and we only start to see the people He’s using.
He’s only using those people because of His great love for His church.
But at the end of the day,we are all the same to Him.
We all have One Father.
So we need to give God His rightful place.
