Life can be so unpredictable.
The only safe place is to be right with God.
In 2018 I thought death was decades away from me.
But just when I thought my life was beginning; I was so young and just starting a family with my husband and just had my first child.
But one day things changed drastically.
I found myself facing death and truly if Jesus had not saved me I would have died that day.
That would have been the end,so suddenly.
(For those who don’t know,I had high blood pressure and it almost took my life.God healed me)
In that moment Jesus taught me great lessons that I will never take lightly;
1.Your walk with God is extremely personal, not a group walk. You must make personal decisions to obey, regardless of what anyone else is doing. In that moment it was just about my relationship with Jesus, not anyone else’s.
2.You must take personal responsibility for your prayer life and seek Jesus regardless of wether the situation is favourable to do do so or not.
3.Your whole life should be about Jesus.Nothing else matters.Once death approaches everything else fades away completely and you are only left with your relationship with Jesus.
It is a privilege to still be able to read God’s word and pray.It is such a blessing to still be able to have fellowship with God,we should prioritize it.
4.When it’s your time to die,no one will be able to do anything for you,no matter how much they love you.Only Jesus can be there for you then.
5.Marriage is very temporal because it’s earth bound only. Some people fail to serve Jesus because they want to save their marriage by fulfilling sinful wishes of their spouse. But your spouse can’t help you when eternity calls. As I was in the process of death,I could literally feel that separation of the marriage bond to my husband. All my emotions were getting detached from Him and I felt so separated and knew I didn’t mind him remarrying after my death.
And that’s why I know dead people don’t mind if their spouses get married to others, they don’t feel betrayed.
And this detachment is an important lesson to show us that at the end of the day we are individuals who must make personal decisions to follow Jesus.
Don’t follow your spouse to sin.Follow Jesus.
Jesus had mercy on me just when I would have died.
I had been living in obedience to Jesus at this time.
And I understood the power of the blood of Jesus and how faithful Jesus is.
From a distance I kept hearing the song,”calvary covers it all,” and I knew with no doubt that the blood of Jesus had already washed away my sins and it was the only reason I or anyone could ever go to heaven.
His prescious blood.
But Jesus gave me life.Satan had done all he could to ensure that I died that night but he had no power over my life.
Jesus spoke to me and said,”you will live.”
And I lived.
Life always seems like it will go on forever but we must prepare for the day our life is taken away.
We prepare by believing in Jesus and living in obedience to Him.
It’s not a once off thing, it’s something we must continue to do until the very end.
The bible says love not the world or the things of the world and if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
The reason is once you start focussing on the things of the world, you will regard spiritual things as less important and that day will catch you like a thief in the night.
While we are healthy and alive, the things of God might even seem unimportant and the things of earth seem important.
Life ends suddenly and if a person is unprepared to meet the Lord and wasted their life, there’s no other chance.
We are here to serve the Lord.
Live your life for Jesus, not for yourself.
This life is not about you, it’s about Jesus.
What you want, think etc don’t matter, but what Jesus thinks and wants from you matters because He’s the only One who can give you eternal life.
Satan only wants to deceive you into thinking this earthly life will go on forever but your life could end suddenly.
Are you living for Jesus?
Everything on earth, good or bad,it’s all temporal.
Life can be so unpredictable….
