ONCE SAVED ISN’T AWAYS SAVED
Please read to the end and read all the scriptures.
If after putting your faith in Christ you are free to live in sin then why will God use your works to judge you?
The Bible says that on the day of judgement each and everyone will be judged according to their works.
Revelation 20:11-12,”And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
It isn’t our works that save us but it is our works of righteousness that will prove that we had truly put faith in Jesus.
For how can we put our faith in Christ yet continue to live a life of disobedience to His word?
The word of God says every tree that doesn’t bear good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire. Matthew 7:19
We do not live a life of holiness to earn our salvation, Jesus has already paid the price for that.
We live a life of holiness because we are disciples of Jesus and the Bible says let he who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.2 Timothy 2:19
A good tree does not bear bad fruit.
It is a lie from satan that we cannot be holy.
God created you and cannot ask you to do what He knows is impossible.
1 Peter 1:15 “But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
God cannot instruct you to be holy when He knows it’s impossible.
It is impossible to be holy by your own power but it is possible by the power of the Holyspirit.
Being holy doesn’t mean that you have never sinned, it means that you have forsaken your sins and they have been covered by the blood of Jesus Christ and now you walk in obedience to God.
Even when you make a mistake and sin you do not continue in habitual sin but you quickly turn to God for forgiveness.
You do not make a habit of sinning but you make a habit of living a life of obedience to God.
And because you walk by the power of the Holyspirit it is impossible to continue in your sins because the Holyspirit will correct you and you will turn from your sins.
You do not have a habit of sinning.
You do not live holy to earn your salvation but you live a life that honors God because you know that Jesus Christ has called you to be separate from the world.
You cannot be a disciple of Jesus but living like the world.
Jesus has called us to be separate.
Once you get the Holyspirit baptism Gods will will become clear to you that He wants you to be holy..
And when you continue to seek Him in Spirit and truth He will teach you to live in holiness.
The Bible says the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of heaven.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Therefore anyone who claims to have put their faith in Jesus’ death yet continues in all these sins will not inherit the Kingdom of heaven.
ONCE SAVED ISN’T ALWAYS SAVED (PART 2 of 2)
Please read part 1 first as this is a continuation.
Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was not a license to sin.
It was atonement for the sins we had committed that’s why our sins are washed away when we believe in Him.
But we cannot continue living in sin after that thinking the blood of Jesus gives us freedom to sin.
Deliberate sin after you have put your faith in Christ is an insult to what Jesus did for us on that cross.
Hebrews 10:26-27,’For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.”
Romans 6:1 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
Jesus also preached repentance and constantly told people to go and sin no more.
Read John 8:11 and John 5:14
And Jesus even warned that those who do not repent will perish. Luke 13:1-5
Revelation 21:7-8, “He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
The lifestyle you are living isn’t what will save you but it is what will prove whether you were a believer or not.
You cannot gather fruit from thistles and you cannot belong to Christ yet bearing fruit of satan.
You will bear fruit of holiness because the the Holyspirit lives in you.
Your works will be judged because sin is proof of unbelief in Christ.
Jesus Christ did not come to set us free to sin but rather to give us a way of forgiveness and for His Spirit to live in us and help us live holy. Which is what makes the burden of Christ light and His yoke easy.
The Holyspirit in a believer is able to completely transform their desires to make them hate sin and love righteousness and hence a life of holiness becomes natural.
When you try only by your power,your desires will be for sin and sin will be enjoyable.
But you must still overcome those desires and ask for the Holyspirit.
The Holyspirit makes sin to become tormenting therefore it becomes a joy to stay away from it.
This is not just theory but it is real and the Lord has helped and is helping me to find joy in obedience to Him.
It does happen when you seek God and depend on His Spirit.
We cannot be holy without the Holyspirit but He is given to us as a seal that we are Christ’s and therefore whenever the Holyspirit comes in a believer He makes them to desire holiness and to find sin tormenting because the Holyspirit is holy and is grieved by sin.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
Even Paul knew that if he did not continue to be faithful until the end he could still be cast away!
For many are called but few chosen.
Over and over the Bible tells us we must overcome and endure to the end and to be careful about falling.
1 Corinthians 10:12 “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.“
You can put your faith in Christ today but if after that you turn back to your sin you will be destroyed.
Once saved isn’t always saved.
Hebrews 10:38-39 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”
True belief in Jesus isn’t a one time thing but continues till you enter God’s kingdom and if you lose that faith by backsliding into sin again you will lose your salvation.
Hebrews 6:4-6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”
The Bible says ONLY THOSE WHO DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER will inherit heaven.
Matthew 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.“
2 Peter 2:20-22
“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”
And the Bible also says some believe for a while but turn away and are lost.
Luke 8:13 “They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.”
The Bible warns that on that day people will come and claim to have had Jesus as their Lord but will be cast away because of their lifestyle of sin.
Matthew 7:21-23 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
The only people who will be saved are those who truly believed in Jesus and God will separate them from unbelievers by CHECKING THE FRUIT which is their works in their earthly life.
That is why in Revelation 20:11-12 we will all be judged by having our works checked in the books were they were recorded.
2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”
In the above scripture you can see again that on the day of judgement, your works will be checked by God whether good or bad.
Hebrews 12:14-16
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.”
Through bitterness, profanity, fornication and other sin people could be defiled and fail to be saved by God’s grace that has been extended to us.
Hebrews 12:25 “See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:”
Grace is that while we lived in sin with no way of ever having our sins washed away Jesus paid the heavy price and died for our forgiveness.
When we believe in Him we are forgiven and therefore justified by faith.
But because now we have been born of God we do not continue in our sin but instead we turn from it and live in holiness in every area of our lives.
Our faith in Christ is what will save us but it’s impossible to have faith in Christ yet continue to find pleasure in the works of Satan.
Our works will be judged because they will testify whether or not we even put our faith in Christ.
It is for this reason that our works CANNOT save us.
Even if we do works of righteousness without ever putting our faith in Christ they will fail on the day of judgement because only the blood of Jesus is acceptable before the Father but those whose sins have truly been washed away know the price of the sacrifice and do not go on sinning.
Those who go on sinning have only professed Christ with their lips yet their hearts are still far from Him.
A lemon and orange tree could be confusing from afar but once you see the fruit you will know which is which.
They have become slaves of righteousness and no longer find pleasure in sin but live for God’s glory that is why they are a light to the world and a city on a hill that cannot be hidden.
Anyone still living in and enjoying the works of darkness is still not born of God.
The Bible says those born of God overcome the world.
