POWER OF PRAYER
I was watching a news story that happened today where 13 girls who had gone missing on different days, some for as long as 6 months where rescued from a house where they were being held hostage by their abductors in Lusaka (capital city of my country, Zambia)
Ransom was demanded of their families but at the same time the circumstances seem like the girls were to be a satanic sacrifice of some sort because it was reported that they found a casket, and something like a shrine inside the house.
It is reported that the victims said one of the girls,as well as a guy were killed.
The neighbors said they couldn’t observe anything sinister happening because the house is in a wall fence.
All they knew is that two “normal looking” young men lived at the house.
One girl managed to escape today when the abductors forgot to lock the door and she jumped over the wall fence, which had electric wiring on top, to seek help from neighbors and that’s how they were rescued.
That’s a miracle because she could have easily been electrocuted.
But something struck me about how powerful prayer is.
The mother to one of the girls said her daughter went missing three weeks ago and since then she has been PRAYING AND FASTING for her.
She said she hasn’t been eating since her daughter went missing but has been doing prayer and fasting till the girls were rescued today.
It’s a sad story but it shows how faithful God is when we persistently pray.
It’s not just her daughter who was saved in the end,but 12 others were saved because of prayer!
Imagine what would have been these girl’s fate if this woman and others had gotten lazy to pray and fast.
Prayer is never a waste of time.
