PRAY FOR UGANDA
The time is 4:05 AM and I just woke up from a disturbing dream concerning Uganda,a country in East Africa.
I dreamt that a rebel group arose and people were trapped in the town centre and could not go back home. Some were in shops, others in office buildings etc and they were looking out from thier windows at the confusion happening outside.
Some soldiers were attempting to rescue the trapped people but were also getting shot. People were falling one by one.
There was total confusion and shootouts everywhere.
People were moving in groups by holding on to each other to form a tightly knit group then running across the street to an area with a bush to hide.
Mostly those on the the sides of the group were getting shot and only those in the middle of the group were surviving.
In the dream,I went there as a journalist to cover as I am a journalist in real life. Even journalists were getting shot despite having identification. It was a gloomy situation. People were losing their phones, handbags and other property in the confusion.
Guns were lying idle everywhere as they had been dropped from moving vehicles of soldiers and the rebel group which were cruising everywhere.
People were picking guns and shooting in all directions not even sure where to shoot just to protect themselves.
Soldiers were trying to assure members of the public through public address systems to stay calm saying they had the situation under control but no one was listening. Everyone was doing their best to try and save their own lives and not depending on someone else to do it for them.
I also joined a group of citizens which was trying to run to safety by forming one closely knit group and running across the road amdist all the shooting.
The dream ended.
—————————————
I woke up with a very HEAVY burden to pray for citizens of that country. Let us LITERALLY pray for their safety and not just by typing that we are praying for them on social media. God loves everyone and does not want lives to be lost.
Uganda held its General elections on 14 January 2021. The Electoral Commission of Uganda announced Incumbent President Yoweri Museveni, who has ruled the country since the year 1986 as the winner, followed by the National platform for Unity party which was the closest rival. Citizens there have been expressing unrest over the country’s pepertual leader and this could prompt the rising of a rebel group. Let’s pray for peace and safety for Uganda or else innocent lives may be lost.
