Biblical Dress Code

The Greek word for apparel in this text is
Katastole, meaning a long dress . Kata meaning
down – a garment flowing down ; and Stole – a long garment, covering or wrapping.
The Greek word for modest is Kosmios, meaning
orderly, well-arranged, decent, modest, harmonious arrangement, or adornment .
therefore Modest apparel means,a long garment flowing down covering (not transparent) herm-ness below the knees and not emphasizing shape of body or figure,not exposing nakedness……
modesty also Biblically applied to one’s demeanor or behavior. This same Greek word is translated good behavior in 1 Timothy 3:2 in the qualifications of bishops.
Therefore, sisters are instructed to wear modest long dresses (Kosmios Katastole). This Kosmios Katastole specifies that the dress should be of a suitably long length,not tight and not transparent.
The definition of modesty involves both one’s manner of dress and inward qualities(character). Biblical modesty starts within a person but is ultimately demonstrated by their outward appearance.
Biblical modesty insn’t just about covering up without the change of the inner man,its both.
Modesty IS part of holiness.
