Who are we apart from Jesus?
Absolutely nothing.
What can we do apart from him?
Absolutely nothing,and I mean literally.
Everything God wants from us,only He can make us do.
We can't repent unless by the power of the Holyspirit.
The bible says God ll never reject a broken and contrite heart, but we can't even be broken and contrite about our sins on our own, only God can give us that heart.
That's the heart He will never despise, but we can't have it on our own,He's the One who grants it to us so that we find mercy when we come before Him.
The bible says those who are thirsty will be filled, but we don't have any ability to even have this thirst on our own.
It is Him who fills us with this thirst,so that when we may be filled with the Holyspirit when we come before Him.
We can't have any desire to live righteously, except by His power.
It's only Him who can put this desire within us.
And we can't live righteously except by His power alone.
God has promised to answer prayer but we can't even pray without Him.
It's Him who gives us the zeal and power to pray.
We can do absolutely nothing on our own,we need Him,we need Him for everything.
That's why we must come to a complete surrender to God.
It's only Him who can do the work in us,all we have to do is surrender, and He will do the work.
This is one thing that makes us like little children, depending on Him like children depend on parents.
If you are stuck in sin and you can't stop, ask Him to help you.
If you want to pray in truth and Spirit, ask Him to help you.
If you want to be on fire for God,ask Him.
On your own you can do NOTHING.
It is Him,and Him alone who does everything.
We need Jesus Christ, the world needs Jesus Christ.
Zechariah 4:6
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
“The greatest miracle that God can do today is to take an unholy man out of an unholy world and make him holy, then put him back into that unholy world and keep him holy in it.”
