THE SIN OF BLASPHEMY
Recently in prayer, the Lord has been teaching me about the seriousness of sin.
He has made me see sin in a new way and like I’ve never thought about it before.
As humans, we take things lightly and we do not realise the spiritual meaning of the things we do.
For example, the Lord made me see that blasphemy is not only speaking evil words against God, but that this sin can actually be committed in the way we live our daily lives.
In 2012 when the Lord started giving us messages, He had given us a message concerning gospel music with worldly beats such as Rhumba,Raggae,Rock and Rap among others.
He said those songs displease Him because they are worldly in nature, and people were bringing the world into the Church.
The Lord got angry and said, “Am I a dog that you should play such music before me?! Do Angels in heaven play gospel songs with rap, rock or other worldly beats before me?!”
Then recently, the Lord revealed to me that anyone listening to songs of that Kind is actually blaspheming God.
I was taken aback and didn’t see how this could be,because we all know that blasphemy is a serious sin, and wondered how one could be committing the sin of blasphemy just from listening to songs like this.
Then, I looked up the meaning of blasphemy in the dictionary and it all made sense to me.
I already knew the meaning of that word, but I wanted to see how it would be broken down in the dictionary and this is what I got, ” Blasphemy is the act of insulting or showing contempt or LACK OF REVERENCE to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred.”
Then it all made sense because if people listen to songs that are called gospel but have worldly beats such as rock, rap, raggae etc, they are showing lack of reverence to God.
It is the same as one would not go before their earthly Father and start singing songs of rap, rhumba or anything else because it would be highly disrespectful. Now imagine if we listen to such songs and they have the name of Jesus in the name. That shows total disrespect to this Holy name.
The Lord also made me realise that the sin of blasphemy also applies to many other areas of our lives.
For example, the bible says our bodies are the Temples of God .
Even in the old Testament, Temples were treated with reverence and nod profane thing was to be found there.
Now if we do sinful things to our bodies which are the temples of God, for example, dressing indecently, worldly hair styles, drinking alcohol or commuting adultery, fornication, gossip and many other things, then we are showing total contempt to the temple of God which is the sin of Blasphemy.
This revelation made me terrified, and made me see just how SERIOUSLY THE LORD SEES SIN.
People will be shocked when they land in hell and they’re told that among the sins the sins they have committed is the sin of blasphemy and they will wonder when and how.
James 4:4 “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”
Galatians 5:19-21
“19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Revelation 21:8 “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
“9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were [c]sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
This is the time to repent while we are alive. There is no Mercy after death.
