There was a terrible accident last weekend and some people died but one of the people involved survived though terribly injured in ICU in hospital.
So today some people were talking about the accident and saying it’s a good thing if someone doesn’t die on the spot and survives for a while because it gives them a chance to repent.
The people who were talking about this are the lady’s friends and saying they “don’t know where she ll go if she dies now because of the life she lived” and that she should start seeking God now so that she can go to heaven.
Sadly,that is the attitude alot of people have about eternity.
While it’s true that someone can repent at death like the thief on the cross, not everyone can repent on their deathbed.
Many think that people can just live their lives how they want and when they realize they are dying then quickly repent and go to heaven.
That is Satan’s lie because he knows that by time you won’t be able to repent.
If you ignore God in your life despite knowing the truth,by the time you are dying you will realize your heart is already hardened and you will actually sense it in the spirit that your door is already shut,what is done is done.
Repentance requires a change of heart where you truly regret your sin and want to change and start living in holiness regardless of the repercussions you will face in life.
People who repent at death are those who didn’t know the truth till death.
They don’t feel happy about knowing the truth at death,they actually wish they knew it earlier.
Repentance is not trying to fool God into letting you into heaven.
God is not mocked.
That is why the word of God says the day of repentance is TODAY.
Don’t wait till you are dying, remember God now while you are still alive.
The people who were with the lady died on the spot.
They didn’t even know that was the day they would die.
According to her, they just wanted to go and get some takeaway food,but they died just like that.
Where they ready to meet God?
Where they living for God?
If they were they entered into the heavenly reward,if not that means going to hell for eternity.
The main reason people fail to repent is they are trying to please people.
Unless you decide Jesus is your only Master,you will never be able to repent.
Stop caring about pleasing people who won’t accompany you in death.
Despite what happened,this woman’s friends are still worried about people’s opinions saying,”she should repent though it doesn’t have to be drastic but she can atleast start changing.People will understand even if they see her not drinking after this.”
People’s opinions should not definite our lives,we live for Christ,not people.
Don’t please people.
The day of repentance is today, when you still have breath, tommorow could be too late.
You cannot outsmart God.
God isn’t a machine programmed to forgive when ever the words “am sorry” are said.
God forgives those who repent (regret their sin and turn away from them).
He sees the heart.
And if you reject Him in life,at death your heart will be too hardened to repent because your door to repentance will already be shut as soon as you know you are dying.
You will say you are sorry but only out of fear because you can see you are going to hell,not out of repentance.
If life is given to you again,you will continue in sin.
God can see a repentant and none repentant heart, He cannot be mocked.
Repent now while you still have life.
You need to repent of your sins while you still have life, and start living for Jesus.
Develop a relationship with Jesus.
Jesus is real.
If you seek Him whole heartedly He will change your heart and cause you to hate your sin.
