Being radical for Jesus is not just jumping up and down in church meetings, it’s having the heart of a martyr .Jesus never promised that the world will love you when you follow him but that you will be hated by all for his name’s sake (Luke 21:17).if you are a man or woman of God and everyone speaks well of you,BEWARE! ‘ Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. Luke 6:26.
In this final hour as we await the coming of Jesus,being radical for Jesus is a must.we should pray to God to grant us grace to have hearts the first disciples had. The heart of a martyr.
That is the heart of a martyr? it’s the heart to be willing to suffer persecution ( Acts 5:41), the heart to be willing to be called names and even be killed for the sake of Christ.the heart that forgives even when it’s still hurting (acts 7:60), The heart to rather die than sin against God.The heart that loves the things God loves and hates the things God hates.The heart that hates worldliness (James 4v4: 1 John 2:15-17 )and loves righteosness.The heart that believes all things work together for good to them that love God……. the heart that lets God be true and every man a liar (rom 3:4). The heart that will praise God and thank him even when things are hard.The heart that trusts Jesus with their life.The heart that never complains to God but rather trusts Him.The heart that seeks God out of love not for what He can give.The heart that still loves and seeks God even when prayers seem unanswered.The heart that doesn’t care about self esteem and reputation when it comes to serving God and living a holy life.The heart that doesn’t care how many friends/loved ones or family they will have to lose for Christ’s sake (mathew 10:32-39),the heart that has Jesus for a role model and imitates him (1cori 4:16).The heart that doesn’t want to be like the stars/celebrities of this world but wants to be like Jesus.The heart that doesn’t aim at pleasing people but God.
NB: you can’t give yourself such a heart.Jesus said “without me you can do nothing (john 15:5) what you need to do is to seek God until you find him. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity…………(Jeremiah (jere 29:11-14)
Remember that the opposite of having such a heart is captivity.For the devil wants everyone to be comfortable living without knowing God.Life without seeking and knowing God is actually a lie.The normal thing is for us to be uncomfortable when we are in the pit of not knowing God and then call unto God to deliver us. ‘The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail’ Isaiah 51:14. such captivity will never go until we do something we have never done in seeking God and never to give up until we find him and when we ask and seek him, he will impart that heart to us.seeking God wholeheartedly,dying to self and to worldliness is a must if we want to find God.There is no other way but Jesus’ way.
