As I was praying last evening, The Lord Jesus Christ gave me this word.
He said, "In this evil polluted world with so much corruption and pollution, I still expect My bride to be pure, undefiled and unspotted by the world.
I still expect her not to allow herself to be spotted or defiled by the filth and corruption, but to be COMPLETELY set apart for Me.
Her purity despite the corruption in the world where she lives,is a sweet smelling fragrance before Me,and it is so pleasant to Me.
No matter how much corruption multiplies and becomes normal,I want My bride to touch none of it."
Right now, there's so much evil going on and it keeps getting worse but God hasn't changed;GOD IS HOLY and He wants His children to be holy.
1 Peter 1:16" Be holy for I am holy"
And God's definition of holiness is still as it was the time the bible was written.
The human behavior has changed to accept so many things that were previously not acceptable, but human culture and behavior has never changed God.
We must seek God's holiness not our own definition of holiness.
"Seek first the kingdom of God and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS and all these things will be added to you." Matthew 6:33
The bible says we are to seek His righteousness, not our own definition of righteousness.
For example, right now its normal for people to insult, cuss, and swear and people have been brainwashed into accepting it as normal.
While such actions were completely unacceptable just years ago even among unbelievers, now many people can listen to music containing obscene language without taking offence!
But has God changed how He views it simply because people are accepting it as normal? Absolutely not!
God is saying not only should you cuss, and swear, but don't find entertainment in watching others do that.
Its practically impossible to watch a non Christian movie without cussing, swearing, adultery, fornication, and all other things that go against what God wants for us.
Don't get your robes defiled!
“Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”2 Corinthians 6:17
Don't look to the world to judge whether you are living in holiness or not, that will get you to be "holier than the world" but it doesn't guarantee your holiness towards God.
Look to Jesus for a perfect example.
Develop a relationship with Jesus
Start asking for His correction and rebuke, wash your robes in the blood of the Lamb of God.
Do not let your holiness be you trying to be better than the other person, don't base it on comparing your life to other people.
Base it on comparing your life to Jesus.
" For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise." 2 Corinthians 10:12
Compare yourself to Jesus,your bridegroom.
Don't let your eyes wander off away from Jesus, you will lose your way,let your eyes be fixed on Jesus.
Always ask yourself, "would Jesus do this?would Jesus wear this?how does Jesus want me to act in this situation?"
Let Jesus be your standard.
If you develop a relationship with Jesus by reading the bible daily, praying, repenting of your sins, and opening up your heart to Him and being completely willing to follow Him,Jesus will direct your path and help you to keep your robes undefiled.
The human body is never willing to obey Jesus, and the more we allow ourselves to freely live in disobedience, the harder it will be to obey.
But if we train our body to obey,by ignoring how we feel and what we want, and instead do only that which the Lord Jesus Christ wants, then we are crucifying our flesh.
As we keep obeying, and maintaining our relationship with Jesus,it will keep getting easier and easier to obey Jesus.
We cannot just be praying, but continue living in disobedience, that is unacceptable to God.
He cares more about our obedience to Him than us giving Him lip service saying, "Lord,Lord," and yet we are denying Him with our lifestyle by being disobedient to Him.
“Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
As in obedience to the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed [is better] than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as [serious as] the sin of divination (fortune-telling),
And disobedience is as [serious as] false religion and idolatry." 1 Samuel 15:22-24
Developing a relationship with Jesus includes obedience to His word.
As we keep seeking Him and being obedient to Him,our love for Jesus will increase till our obedience isn't because of obligation but because of our love for Him!
We need to take the first step of choosing Jesus, then He will help us.
I want you to imagine the struggle of a man who realises he is about to be killed……can you imagine how hard he will struggle just to try to stay alive?
It is the same with the flesh.
When it realises you want to kill it,it won't stay still.
It will fight all it can, giving you excuses why you can't pray now, why you can't repent now.It won't die easy.
But you must say no to it and starve it.
You must take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God(reading and living God's word) and kill the flesh.
If you don't kill the flesh now,it will kill your soul by taking you to hell.
All the desires to dress indecently even when you know God does not like it,the pride, unforgiveness, the desire to chase after money, entertainment, and everything else, we only have them because we are still in this body(flesh) but immediately we get disconnected at death,we realise all these things were nothing!
This is why when a person is about to die, they want something to do with God,like prayer or the bible, their flesh is almost dead and they realise what is important.
But we do not need to wait till our flesh is physically dead,we can kill it now using God's word,so that it does not blind us to what is truly important.
Obey Jesus and have a real relationship with Him because by human strength no man can prevail(1 Samuel 2:9).
We need Jesus.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."John 15:5
We must abide in Him in order to overcome.
"Seek God while He can be found, call on Him while He is near.Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."Isaiah 55:6-7
